Refund policy

We hope your Studio Playfair piece becomes something treasured. If you change your mind, you have 14 days from the date of delivery to request a return. Exceptions and non-returnable items are detailed below.

To be eligible for return, your item must be in perfect condition: unworn, unused, with all original packaging, tags, and protective elements intact. You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To request a return, please contact the studio at studio@studioplayfair.com or complete the Request a Return Form.

Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. Once your return request has been approved, we will send return instructions.

For UK and EU orders, the item must then be sent back within a further 14 days, in accordance with applicable consumer law.

For USA and non-EU international orders, the return must be sent back in line with the instructions provided by the studio.

Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items

Certain items cannot be returned unless faulty.

The following items are not eligible for return:

• Custom size, customised, personalised, engraved, bespoke, made-to-order customised, commissioned, made-to-order bespoke metals, or modified pieces
• Pierced earrings, for reasons of hygiene
• Gift cards

If you have any doubts before placing your order, we encourage you to contact the studio for guidance.

UK Returns

Please note that return shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer. We advise using a tracked, signed for and insured service as returns must be received and verified before refunds are issued. If you would like Studio Playfair to arrange this and provide a returns shipping label, you may request this. The shipping and handling fee if you choose this service is a flat fee of £10, which will be deducted from your refund. 

Once your return request has been approved, you will receive instructions for returning your package. 

Express or next-day delivery charges are non-refundable. Where applicable, standard delivery charges will be refunded in accordance with your statutory rights. The package must be received safely by the studio and verified before a refund is approved.

USA Returns

For USA orders, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

We can offer to arrange your return, with the cost deducted from your refund. This return service starts from $25 USD, with an accurate quote provided upon request. Please indicate on the return request form if you would like a quote for this service.

You may also return your order using your own shipping provider. If you do so, we strongly advise using a reputable tracked, insured, and signed-for service. Studio Playfair cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit. The package must be received safely by the studio before a refund is approved.

Please clearly mark the parcel as “Return shipment to origin” to help avoid customs delays.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable. Any local taxes, customs duties, or fees that are unrecoverable are not refunded for shipments outside the UK.

EU & International Returns

For EU and other international orders, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Faults, Damage & Incorrect Items

Each Studio Playfair piece is carefully inspected and visually documented before dispatch. If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect, please contact the studio as soon as possible so we can review the issue and advise on the next steps.

Exchanges

We do not currently offer direct exchanges.

The fastest way to receive a different item is to return the piece you have, and once the return has been accepted, place a separate order for the new item.

European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

If your order is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without justification, subject to the exceptions stated in this policy.

As above, the item must be returned in perfect condition: unworn, unused, with all original packaging, tags, and protective elements intact. You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds

We will notify you once we have received and inspected your return.

We reserve the right to refuse a refund if the returned item does not match the order or shows signs of wear beyond inspection. Refunds are processed only once the returned item has been received and verified.

Studio Playfair reserves the right to reject returns which do not comply with our returns policy. A return which is rejected may be sent back to the original shipping address at our discretion. 

Subject to approval in line with the returns policy, your refund will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to be processed. Your bank or card provider may take additional time to post the refund to your account.
