Jewellery Care
Wearing
To preserve the finish, remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, exercising, cleaning, or applying perfume, oils, lotions, and skincare.
Ear cuffs should be placed on and removed gently from the top of the ear. Avoid adjusting the form. If further fitting guidance is needed, contact us.
High Polish Finishes
Mirror-polished surfaces may pick up fine marks with wear. This is part of the life of a precious metal object.
To maintain the high polish, avoid abrasive cloths, silver dips, and storing pieces together without separation. Use polishing cloths sparingly, as repeated rubbing may alter the surface over time.
Satin Finishes
Satin-finished pieces have a softer, more architectural surface than high-polish jewellery. Handle gently and clean with a soft, dry cloth only. Avoid silver polishing cloths or abrasive products on satin-finished areas, as they may brighten the surface or alter the texture over time.
With wear, satin finishes may naturally soften or burnish on areas of regular contact.
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver naturally develops a patina over time. Wearing silver often can help reduce tarnish, as the natural oils in skin help maintain the surface.
After each wear, gently wipe with a soft, clean cloth to remove residue. Use a silver polishing cloth sparingly and only when needed to restore brightness, as repeated polishing may alter the surface over time.
Remove before swimming, bathing, cleaning, or applying perfume, oils, lotions, and skincare. Avoid liquid silver dips and abrasive cleaners.
18ct Gold
Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth before storing each piece separately to avoid contact marks.
To preserve the finish, we recommend removing jewellery before swimming, showering, cleaning, or applying perfume, oils, lotions, and skincare. Avoid chlorine, salt water, harsh chemicals and abrasive materials.
For occasional cleaning, use lukewarm water with a few drops of pH-neutral soap. Clean gently with a very soft brush, rinse well, and dry fully with a soft cloth.
Storage
Store each piece separately to help prevent scratches, friction, and contact marks. The Studio Playfair pouch provided with your order is designed for this purpose. For ear cuff pairs and earrings, store each piece individually to protect the surface.
Keep jewellery in a cool, dry place, away from humidity, direct sunlight, and household products.
